vmware vRealize Suite

vmware vRealize Suite is cluster of products which can be used for Private & Public cloud Automation & Monitoring.

The Suites consist of the below Products:
  1. vRealize Operations Manager
  2. vRealize Log Insight
  3. vRealize Business for Cloud
  4. vRealize Automation
vRealize Operations Manager

The Operation Manager has the below benefits:
  • Used to Monitor the Infrastructure across vsphere, AWS & Physical Environments.
  • Smart alert in terms of resource usage across private & public cloud environment.
  • Analytic engine which gives the Service Admin on the performance of the VM.
  • Capacity Planing Report.
  • Compliance Status.
 vRealize Log Insight

The Log Insight works in hand with the Operation Manager to update the operations issues in vsphere, AWS & Physical Environments.

 vRealize Business for Cloud

 The vRealize Business provides insight in to the financial aspects of the resource usage which gives the cost consumes for Hardware, Software License Purchased,  Power, Facilities, Training Materials etc.

vRealize Automation

The Automation product has the below benefits:

  •  Comes with default blue print & the same can be modified (This is like the VM template)
  • Used to design Infra, network, security, software, XaaS
  • Has RBAC (Role Based Access Control) which can be used across Business Units or can be used by IaaS Provider. Such as a Catalog can be created & which can be shared with end user.
Components:

  1. vRA Appliances (Linux .OVA File)
  2. IaaS Servers (Windows)
  3. IaaS Database (SQL) 
 vRA Appliances Service:
  1. Web Console --> Front end portal
  2. vPostgres DB - Secondary DB for Authentication etc.. used by Web Portal.
  3. vRealize Orchestration Instance - vRO is combined with vRA for Orchestration task where we can integrate with 3rd party Software.
IaaS Server Service:
  1. Manager Service - Brains of the vRA instance
  2. Web Service - This is http end point & it communicates with Manager service
  3. DEM (Distributed Execution Manager) - Orchestrator -->Used for scheduling jobs
  4. DEM  (Distributed Execution Manager) - Worker --> Used for carring out the action for Orchestrator
  5. DEM (Distributed Execution Manager) - Agent --> Used for communication with End Points like vcenter, AWS etc. (Note: need 1 Agent for each vcenter)
